Facebook and other social media sites may now be incorporated into the learning process for grade school students attending Woodland District 50 schools.
The school board recently adopted two new policies related to social media and new technology. One policy allows teachers to use social media as an instructional tool. Another allows district employees to use social media and technology, such as computers and cell phones, to communicate with students.
In addition to social media sites, the policy covers other Web 2.0 components such as blogs, wikis and video sharing sites.
